Established in 2007, and having had several iterations in between, the Museum of Sound is an online resource for sharing and listening to sound in all its variations and complexities. It is intended as an institution and shared resource rather than as a commercial vehicle.

Sounds are grouped thematically and might include recordings of Chicago, ice, beavers, wind, ponds, lockdown sounds, insects, or vibrations from the Earth.
Guest curators have included Jez Riley French, Listening Across Disciplines, Scott Hazell, Kirk Barley, Séan Ronayne, Pete Stollery, Katrine Amsler, Jaume Reus Viver, Philip Samartzis, Dominic Voz, and Abby Lee Tee.
The image shows a grid of various square photos, with play buttons in the centre, representing the various sounds in the museum: a Palestine solidarity march, mics pointing at ice, insect wings.
